CM Mann Hands Over ₹1 Crore Cheque to Martyr ASI Dhanwant Singh’s Family, Reaffirms Support for Soldiers’ Kin

Chandigarh, July 28, 2025: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Monday extended heartfelt support to the family of martyr ASI Dhanwant Singh by personally handing over a cheque of ₹1 crore at Khatkar Kalan in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar. The officer had laid down his life in the line of duty on January 18, 2025, while serving in the district.

Describing the gesture as a mark of respect for the bravery and sacrifice of ASI Dhanwant Singh, the Chief Minister said the contribution of this son of the soil towards maintaining law and order would never be forgotten. He called the financial aid a small but sincere tribute from the state government in recognition of the officer’s commitment to public safety.

Mann emphasized that taking care of the families of fallen heroes is not just an obligation but a moral responsibility of the Punjab government. He reiterated his government’s firm resolve to stand by the families of soldiers and police personnel who make the supreme sacrifice for the motherland.

He expressed hope that this financial support would provide some relief to the bereaved family and help secure their future. He added that such efforts would also inspire more youth to serve in the Armed Forces and the Punjab Police with pride and dedication.

The ceremony reflected the government’s continuing policy of extending timely and respectful assistance to the families of martyrs and reinforcing the bond between the administration and those who dedicate their lives to national service.
