Employment Fairs a Key Step Towards Government’s Priority on Job Creation: Haryana Agriculture Minister Shyam Singh Rana

30 Newly Selected Candidates Receive Appointment Letters at Rozgar Mela in Yamunanagar

Chandigarh, July 12 — Haryana’s Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana on Saturday highlighted that employment fairs are an effective step in the government’s mission to prioritise job creation. He made the remarks while attending the 16th Rozgar Mela held by the Northern Railway’s Chief Workshop, Jagadhri, in Yamunanagar. The event was organised simultaneously in 47 cities across the country under the Central Government’s employment generation initiative.

During the event, around 200 newly selected candidates were handed appointment letters, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi joined the proceedings virtually to address the youth nationwide.

In his virtual address, Prime Minister Modi underscored that the Rozgar Mela is a crucial part of the government’s strategy to prioritise employment generation. “It not only provides opportunities to the youth but also empowers them to contribute to national development,” he said. He added that millions of young Indians have already received appointment letters under this initiative without any bribes or undue expenses, playing a significant role in nation-building. He noted that India, with its booming economy, is on track to becoming the world’s third-largest power, with significant progress across sectors and expanding exports to numerous countries. PM Modi also handed out 51,000 appointment letters during the event.

Addressing the gathering in Yamunanagar, Minister Shyam Singh Rana congratulated 30 candidates selected for positions in the Railways, Kurukshetra Higher Education Department, Postal Department, and Ministry of Home Affairs. He emphasised that receiving an appointment letter is not merely securing employment but also an opportunity to contribute actively to nation-building.

“Our country is the world’s largest democracy, and true democracy means staying connected with the people and working with a spirit of service towards national development,” said Rana. He praised Prime Minister Modi’s visionary leadership, stating that India’s stature has risen globally under his tenure.

Rana also noted that Haryana has been proactive in providing jobs based on merit without any bribes or undue influence. “Today, the youth of Haryana are eager to clear competitive exams because jobs are being offered purely on merit, without bribes or intermediaries,” he said.
