Sanjeev Arora Takes Oath as Punjab Cabinet Minister After Ludhiana By-Election Victory

Chandigarh (National Times): Newly elected Ludhiana MLA Sanjeev Arora was officially sworn in as a Cabinet Minister in the Punjab government today. The oath was administered by Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria at a formal ceremony held at Raj Bhavan in the presence of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

Arora’s induction into the Cabinet follows his impressive win in the recently held Ludhiana by-election, where he contested as the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate and emerged victorious with a commanding margin. His inclusion in the Cabinet is seen as both a reward for the crucial electoral win and a strategic move to strengthen AAP’s urban political base in Punjab.

Arora expressed gratitude after taking the oath. While the ministerial portfolio assigned to Arora has not yet been announced, political insiders suggest he may handle departments related to industry, urban development, or trade, aligning with Ludhiana’s economic profile and his business background.

Arora’s victory in Ludhiana was seen as a significant political moment for AAP, especially at a time when the party has been under scrutiny from both the opposition and the public on various governance issues. His swift elevation to the Cabinet sends a strong signal of AAP’s focus on delivering on its promises and bringing new leadership to the forefront.

This marks another chapter in Sanjeev Arora’s political journey, who is now expected to play a larger role in state politics as Punjab prepares for the next legislative phase.
