US Deploys Fighter Jets to Middle East as Israel-Iran Conflict Deepens

Washington, June 17, 2025 – The United States has begun moving fighter jets and additional military assets to strategic locations in the Middle East amid intensifying conflict between Israel and Iran, officials confirmed on Monday.

The decision comes as Israel’s air campaign against Iran enters its second week, triggering fears of a wider regional war. US defense officials stated that the movement of jets is aimed at deterring further escalation and protecting American troops and assets stationed across the region.

According to Pentagon sources, the reinforcements include F-35 and F-15 fighter aircraft, supported by refueling and intelligence-gathering units. These jets are expected to arrive at bases in Jordan, Qatar, and the UAE over the next few days.

US President Donald Trump, who was attending the G7 summit in Alberta, reiterated that America would not enter the conflict but emphasized that it will “protect its interests and allies.” The Pentagon added that the deployments are defensive in nature and meant to “reinforce regional stability.”

The situation remains volatile after Israel launched Operation Rising Lion on June 13, targeting Iranian nuclear and military facilities. Tehran has since responded with drone and missile strikes and warned of “uninterrupted resistance.”

Washington continues to urge both parties to de-escalate. Meanwhile, US officials confirmed that naval assets in the Mediterranean and Red Sea are on standby.
