Chandigarh, June 17, 2025: The postmortem report in the murder case of social media influencer Kanchan Kumari, also known as Kamal Kaur Bhabi, has been released. The report confirms that she died due to strangulation. Although some suspicious marks were found on her body, there is no confirmation of sexual assault.
The postmortem was conducted on June 12 at the Civil Hospital in Bathinda by a panel of three government doctors. The preliminary report states that the cause of death was strangulation. The report also notes that suspicious marks were found near the thighs and private parts of the deceased, but it could not be confirmed whether those were due to sexual assault or another cause.
Investigation Hinges on Forensic Report
According to SP City Narinder Singh, the deceased’s swab and viscera samples have been sent to the forensic lab. He said that once the viscera report is received, it will be determined whether the victim was drugged or subjected to any other form of abuse before the murder.
Accused Still at Large
In this sensational murder case, Nihang Amritpal Singh Mehro and his accomplices have been named. Police teams are conducting raids to arrest them. Authorities state that the investigation’s direction will become clearer once the forensic results arrive.
