Bathinda SSP Reveals Key Details in Kamal Kaur Murder Case; Lookout Notice Issued for Amritpal Singh Mehron

Bathinda (National Times): In a significant development in the Kamal Kaur murder case, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Bathinda, Amneet Kondal, addressed a press conference on Friday and revealed crucial details linking Amritpal Singh Mehron to the crime.

SSP Kondal stated that upon verifying Mehron’s travel history, it was confirmed that he was present at the crime scene at the time Kamal Kaur, his sister-in-law, was brutally murdered. “After committing the murder, Amritpal Singh Mehron fled the country around 9 p.m. the same evening. In light of this, we have issued a lookout notice for him yesterday to prevent any further attempts to evade justice,” she said.

The SSP further informed the media that during the investigation, the two individuals arrested earlier in connection with the murder case provided key information. “Based on their interrogation, it has come to light that two more persons were involved in the murder. Their names have now been nominated, and further action is being taken,” she added.

In a separate development, a fresh FIR has also been registered against Amritpal Singh Mehron following a complaint by social media user Deepika Luthra. The case, filed at the Cyber Crime Police Station in Amritsar, includes serious charges under sections 308, 79, 351(3), 324(4), and 67 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Luthra alleged that Mehron issued death threats to her, prompting swift police action.

Authorities are now intensifying efforts to trace Mehron’s location abroad and are reportedly working with international agencies to facilitate his return for legal proceedings.

SSP Kondal assured the public that no stone would be left unturned in ensuring justice for Kamal Kaur and that every individual involved would be held accountable. The investigation is ongoing.
