Bathinda (National Times): In a chilling revelation, Bathinda Police have cracked the mysterious murder of Kanchan Kumari, widely known as Kamal Kaur Bhabhi, a prominent online personality. Two Nihang Singhs, identified as Jaspreet Singh Mehron and Nimratjit Singh Harike, have been arrested for their involvement in the premeditated murder, police officials confirmed on Sunday.
Senior Superintendent of Police Amneet Kondal addressed a press conference earlier today, stating that the duo strangled Kamal to death after luring her to Bathinda under false pretenses. The plan was orchestrated by Amritpal Singh Mehron, who allegedly contacted Kamal pretending to be a client seeking promotional work.
Lured, Trapped, and Murdered
According to SSP Kondal, Kamal was approached online by Amritpal, who claimed to need social media promotion services. Trusting the offer, she traveled to Bathinda to meet the “client.” It was there, police say, that she was taken to a remote location and strangled to death by Jaspreet and Nimratjit.
Police are currently investigating whether Amritpal was directly present during the murder or acted solely as the mastermind. “This was a meticulously planned crime. The suspects created a fake professional interaction to gain Kamal’s trust and isolate her,” said SSP Kondal.
Who Was Kamal Kaur Bhabhi?
Kamal, better known by her screen name Kamal Kaur Bhabhi, was a rising content creator and influencer, known for her bold and outspoken videos. Her sudden disappearance and the subsequent discovery of her body had shocked her fan base and the Punjabi digital community.
Her murder has sparked widespread outrage on social media, with many demanding strict punishment for the perpetrators.
Police Action and Investigation
The Bathinda Police acted swiftly following leads from digital footprints and surveillance data. After interrogations and forensic support, they arrested Jaspreet Singh Mehron and Nimratjit Singh Harike, both affiliated with the Nihang sects. The motive behind the murder is still under investigation, but officials have not ruled out the possibility of ideological or personal enmity.
“We are exploring all angles, including whether Kamal’s public persona or content was a factor in her targeting,” SSP Kondal said.
Amritpal Singh Mehron is currently wanted, and efforts are underway to locate and arrest him.
