Tehran Police Rescues Three Punjabi Youth Abducted in Iran

New Delhi/Tehran (National Times): In a dramatic turn of events, Tehran Police has successfully rescued three Punjabi youth who were reportedly abducted in Iran after falling victim to a visa scam. Delhi Cabinet Minister and BJP National Secretary Manjinder Singh Sirsa confirmed the rescue.

The three young men, Jaspal Singh, Sampreet Singh, and Amritpal Singh, were allegedly lured by a travel agent from Punjab with the false promise of an Australian visa in exchange for Rs 18 lakh each. Instead, they ended up in Iran, where they were reportedly kidnapped, a situation confirmed by the Indian Embassy in Tehran.

In a statement posted on social media, Sirsa expressed deep concern over the incident. “This isn’t just a personal tragedy for their families… It’s a harsh reflection of the failure of the Punjab Government, under CM Bhagwant Mann, to crack down on the rampant fraud by con travel agents that continues to endanger the lives and dreams of our youth,” he said.

Sirsa stated that he was in contact with the Indian Ambassador to Iran, Shri Rudra Gaurav Shresth, and officials from the Ministry of External Affairs to assist in tracking and ensuring the safety of the youth.

The Delhi Minister also called on the Punjab Chief Minister to take immediate action against the agent responsible for the scam. “I urge Bhagwant Mann Ji to ensure the agent is interrogated thoroughly to help prevent more such cases and bring justice to the victims,” he added.

The case has once again highlighted the growing menace of fraudulent immigration practices in Punjab, where many youth fall prey to fake promises of foreign opportunities, often ending up in dangerous situations abroad.

Officials from the Ministry of External Affairs have not yet released an official statement but are expected to provide updates soon.

The rescued individuals are currently under the care of Iranian authorities and will be repatriated to India after the necessary formalities are completed.
