SUV Rams into Crowd at Vancouver Filipino Festival, Multiple Dead and Injured

Vancouver,(Rajeev Sharma)– A devastating tragedy struck Vancouver as a black SUV plowed into a crowd gathered for the Lapu Lapu Day Block Party, leaving several people dead and many injured. The festival was taking place at East 41st Avenue and Fraser Street, celebrating Filipino culture and community.

The Vancouver Police Department confirmed that the driver responsible for the horrifying crash has been arrested. Authorities are still investigating the motive behind the incident. The driver’s identity and further details have not yet been released.

Witnesses described chaotic scenes, with many rushing to help the injured before emergency services arrived. Videos from the event showed people lying on the street, receiving first aid from bystanders and medical teams.

Vancouver Mayor Ken Sim expressed deep sorrow over the incident, offering condolences to the victims’ families and the entire Filipino community. He said, “I am shocked and deeply saddened by the horrific incident at today’s Lapu Lapu Day event. Our thoughts are with all those affected.”

Officials have urged people to stay patient and avoid spreading rumors until the investigation is complete. The community has come together in mourning, with support being extended to everyone affected by the tragedy.
