Chandigarh, April 26 – Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has instructed forest department officials to construct more check dams in hill forest areas to conserve water during the rainy season. This initiative aims to fulfill the water needs of the forest’s flora and fauna while helping maintain groundwater levels.
During a review meeting of various “CM Announcement” projects, CM Saini emphasized that quality should not be compromised in the construction of check dams. He also directed the inspection and repair of existing check dams to ensure their effectiveness.
The CM further instructed the plantation of trees along roadsides during the upcoming monsoon season, ensuring their care until they mature. He proposed the creation of at least two ‘Oxy-Vans’ in each district to promote environmental conservation. Additionally, Saini stressed the need for cleaning the Ghaggar River from an environmental perspective, cautioning against any untreated sewage discharge into the river.
Saini also reviewed projects related to the home, revenue, environment, transport, and forest departments, and set a deadline for their completion. He emphasized that delays in project timelines increase costs and directed officials to clearly note any legitimate reasons for delays on the project files. He also requested space be reserved for fire brigade offices in industrial zones to quickly address any fire emergencies.
In conclusion, the CM urged officials to work with full transparency and dedication to ensure the timely delivery of public services, emphasizing the state’s commitment to reaching even the most vulnerable sections of society.
