Panipat’s Matlauda Village Gets 75 New Streetlights; Minister Krishan Lal Panwar Inaugurates Project

Matlauda, Panipat, April 20: Haryana’s Development and Panchayats Minister Krishan Lal Panwar inaugurated a streetlight installation project on the periphery of Matlauda village in Panipat district. With a budget of ₹16.5 lakh, 75 LED streetlights will be installed along a 4-kilometre stretch of the village boundary, spaced every 50 meters for enhanced nighttime visibility and safety.

Panwar highlighted that this initiative is part of a larger effort to illuminate village boundaries across the state. In the first phase, 2,024 villages have already received similar installations. The 90-watt LED lights will not only improve security but also enhance the village’s overall aesthetic.

Additionally, to improve sanitation, the minister announced the construction of two public toilets at Matlauda’s bus stand at a cost of ₹4 lakh. This facility will particularly benefit women, elderly residents, and travelers from nearby areas.

Panwar emphasized the government’s commitment under Chief Minister Nayab Saini to provide every village with basic infrastructure such as roads, drainage, electricity, sanitation, and community amenities. He stated that streetlight installation on all newly constructed village boundaries is progressing in phases.

“Our goal is to bring development to every village—be it in the form of physical infrastructure or essential services,” he said. “Ensuring comfort and dignity for rural residents remains our top priority.”
