Chandigarh, April 18 – Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini inaugurated the grand entrance gate dedicated to Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji at village Beed Mathana and extended heartfelt greetings to the people on the occasion of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s Prakash Parv. He praised the Guru’s supreme sacrifice for the protection of religion and society, urging citizens to imbibe his teachings and ideals in their daily lives as a true tribute.
Addressing a gathering at the Shri Gurdwara Singh Sabha in Beed Mathana, CM Saini emphasized that remembering the spirit of sacrifice and courage shown by Guru Tegh Bahadur is essential. Prior to the event, he, along with former Minister of State Subhash Sudha, inaugurated the newly built entrance gate at the village by the Gurdwara Management Committee. He offered prayers at the Gurdwara and wished for the prosperity of the people of Haryana.
On this occasion, Gurdwara Committee heads Harpal Singh and Gulzar Singh honored the Chief Minister with a traditional robe of honor (saropa) and a memento. CM Saini also announced a grant of ₹11 lakh for the committee.
He further declared that a grand museum will be built in Kurukshetra to preserve and showcase the sacred teachings and history of the Sikh Gurus. He reminded the audience that Guru Tegh Bahadur had traveled through this very route in Kurukshetra on his way to Lohgarh, making the place historically significant.
Referring to past initiatives, CM Saini said that the state had earlier celebrated the 400th birth anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur in Panipat, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi had marked the occasion at Red Fort in Delhi. The Haryana government, he said, continues to spread the teachings of the Gurus to the masses. He cited the transfer of land for Chillha Sahib Gurdwara in Sirsa, where Guru Nanak Dev Ji had meditated for 40 days, and the construction of a gate in Kurukshetra named after Baba Banda Singh Bahadur, as examples of their ongoing efforts.
