Mansa (National Times): Charan Kaur, mother of the late Sidhu Moosewala, has strongly objected to the misuse of artificial intelligence in altering her son’s iconic image. Specifically, she has called out the digital removal of his turban in AI-generated visuals, calling the act a violation of religious and cultural values.
Posting to Instagram, Kaur said, “My son stood for truth and wore his turban with pride. To tamper with that is not just an insult to him but to all of Punjab.”
She further warned that anyone found editing Sidhu’s images in such a way will face legal consequences. “Sidhu preserved his identity with pride. No one has the right to distort it for attention or humor,” she added.
This public statement comes amid growing concerns over AI’s unethical use in modifying personal and religious imagery.
