Pastor Bajinder Singh Appears in Mohali Court After Non-Bailable Warrants Issued in Sexual Harassment Case

Chandigarh, March 24, 2025: Bajinder Singh, a self-styled pastor from Punjab, appeared in the Mohali District Court last week after non-bailable warrants (NBWs) were issued against him on March 3, 2025. Singh has been facing serious charges related to sexual harassment and rape, dating back to a 2018 accusation by a woman from Zirakpur.

Singh, who was arrested at the Delhi airport in 2018 and later released on bail, was summoned to court following his failure to comply with legal requirements. The case has gained widespread attention due to its disturbing nature and the involvement of religious figures in alleged criminal activities.

The FIR, filed at Zirakpur police station, includes charges under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 376 (rape), 420 (cheating), 354 (outraging the modesty of a woman), 294 (obscenity), 323 (causing hurt), 506 (criminal intimidation), and Section 67 of the Information Technology (IT) Act, which deals with the transmission of sexually explicit content.

In addition to Singh, several of his associates—Jatinder, Akbar Ali, Sitar Ali, Sucha Singh, Rajesh Chaudhary, and Sandeep Pehlwan—are also named in the FIR. They are accused of being complicit in the alleged crimes, further complicating the case.

As the legal proceedings unfold, the case is highlighting the issue of abuse of power and trust, particularly within religious communities, and raising critical questions about the accountability of such figures.
