Pro-Khalistan Extremist Breaches Jaishankar’s Security in London, Tears Indian Flag

London, March 6, 2025 – A pro-Khalistan extremist breached the security of External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar in London, rushing towards his convoy and tearing the Indian flag in front of police officers. The incident occurred as Jaishankar was leaving Chatham House after a scheduled discussion.

A video circulating online shows the protester aggressively running toward Jaishankar’s car, taking advantage of the initial hesitation of security personnel. He managed to tear the Indian tricolor while others in his group shouted slogans from a distance. After a brief delay, the police detained the individual along with other extremists involved in the protest.

The attack came as a group of pro-Khalistan extremists attempted to disrupt Jaishankar’s visit. Another video shared by ANI showed the group waving Khalistani flags and chanting slogans outside the venue.

Jaishankar is currently on an official visit to the United Kingdom, which began on March 4 and is scheduled to continue until March 9.

Jaishankar Defends India’s Kashmir Stance

During his UK tour, Jaishankar held discussions at Chevening House with UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy. Their talks covered strategic coordination, trade negotiations, technology, education, and people-to-people exchanges.

Later, at Chatham House, Jaishankar firmly defended India’s position on Kashmir, rejecting the need for third-party intervention. He highlighted India’s steps, including the abrogation of Article 370, economic development, and successful elections in the region.

He emphasized that the remaining issue was Pakistan’s occupation of part of Kashmir, stating, “I think the part we are waiting for is the return of the stolen part of Kashmir, which is under illegal Pakistani occupation. When that’s done, I assure you, Kashmir is solved.”
