Pakistani Intruder Shot Dead in Punjab
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a Pakistani intruder was shot dead by the Border Security Force (BSF) early Wednesday morning near the international border in Pathankot, Punjab.
BSF personnel noticed suspicious movement near the Border Outpost Tashpatan and challenged the intruder. However, the individual continued moving forward after crossing into Indian territory, prompting the troops to open fire. Officials are working to establish the identity of the deceased.
The BSF, which guards the 553-km India-Pakistan border in Punjab, has announced that a strong protest will be lodged with the Pakistan Rangers over the incident.
