Russia Launches Largest Drone Attack on Ukraine as War Marks Three Years

Kyiv, February 24, 2025 – On the eve of the three-year anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion, Ukraine faced its largest drone attack yet, with Moscow launching a record 267 strike drones overnight, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Massive Assault with Drones and Missiles

Zelenskyy described the unprecedented attack as “the largest since Iranian drones began hitting Ukrainian cities and villages.”
Ukraine’s air force reported that 138 drones were intercepted across 13 regions.
Another 119 drones disappeared en route to their targets, raising concerns about jamming tactics or new Russian strategies.
Three ballistic missiles were also fired, with one fatality reported in Kryvyi Rih.

Zelenskyy Open to Stepping Down for Peace

At a forum in Kyiv marking the war’s third anniversary, Zelenskyy made a startling statement, saying he would resign if it would bring lasting peace under NATO’s security umbrella.
“If to achieve peace, you really need me to give up my post, I’m ready,” he declared.
His comments come amid mounting pressure to end the prolonged war.

Europe Rallies Support in Washington

As concerns grow over US support for Ukraine, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron are making back-to-back visits to Washington this week. Their goal? Convincing US President Donald Trump to maintain aid and not push for a premature peace deal with Russia.
Meanwhile, Russia and the US will hold talks next week on what Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov described as “irritants in bilateral ties.”
With tensions escalating on the battlefield and in diplomacy, Ukraine’s future—and its leadership—remain uncertain.
