Chandigarh, February 21 – A crucial meeting of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha’s Local Bodies Committee was held in Ludhiana under the chairmanship of Madan Lal Bagga. MLA from Dera Bassi, Kuljit Singh Randhawa, participated as a special attendee.
Before the meeting began, tributes were paid to MLA Gurpreet Singh Bassi Gogi, who recently passed away. During the session, committee members discussed several key issues related to accelerating development projects in the state.
MLA Kuljit Singh Randhawa proposed that future committee meetings should be held in various cities across Punjab, including municipal corporations and councils. The proposal was unanimously approved by all committee members. Randhawa also announced that an upcoming meeting would be organized in Zirakpur, Dera Bassi, or Lalru in the coming months to outline a new roadmap for urban development.
The discussions also covered the progress of ongoing development projects by the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation, Improvement Trust Ludhiana, and Patiala authorities. Topics such as field inspections, tender approvals, work orders, street lighting, sewage management, and issues related to GLADA were addressed.
Randhawa briefed the committee about various development works being carried out in Dera Bassi, Lalru, and Zirakpur. He also highlighted the needs and challenges faced by these local bodies. Several committee members and officials were present at the meeting.
