Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal Condemns Mistreatment of Indian Deportees by U.S. Troops, Promises Strict Action Against Fraudulent Travel Agents

Chandigarh, 16 February – Punjab NRI Affairs Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal has strongly condemned the mistreatment of Indian deportees by U.S. troops. In a social media post, he expressed deep sorrow over reports that American forces tied the hands and feet of Indian passengers during their journey back to India. He criticized this inhumane treatment, which occurred despite strong protests.

Government Assures Legal Action

Dhaliwal reaffirmed his commitment to justice for Punjabi victims who were defrauded by illegal travel agents. He urged them to file written complaints about the financial fraud they faced. The Punjab government, he assured, would immediately register FIRs and take strict legal action against these fraudulent agents.

Illegal Immigration a Major Crime

The minister emphasized that sending individuals abroad through illegal means is a serious offense. He reiterated Punjab’s resolve to crack down on human trafficking networks and protect its people from falling prey to such scams.
