Mohali, February 12 – On the auspicious occasion of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj’s birth anniversary, Mohali MLA Kulwant Singh participated in various religious programs held at different Gurdwaras. He paid obeisance and sought blessings at several Gurdwaras, including those in JhamPur, Phase 1 Mohali, Phase 7 Mohali, Mataur, and Matran.
Addressing the gathering, MLA Kulwant Singh emphasized the significance of Guru Ravidas Ji’s teachings, stating that Guru Ji emerged as a beacon of hope during a time when oppressed communities faced severe discrimination and injustice. He guided people towards equality, peace, and unity, setting an example for future generations.
Kulwant Singh urged that in this modern era, it is crucial to connect the younger generation with their rich cultural and spiritual heritage. He highlighted that religious events like birth anniversaries of saints, Gurus, and prophets serve as an opportunity to instill values in children. “Parents hold the responsibility to inspire their children to follow the path shown by our revered spiritual leaders. When children receive guidance from their homes, they become a source of inspiration for others in society,” he remarked.
He also acknowledged Guru Ravidas Ji’s role in uplifting the marginalized sections of society, instilling in them a sense of self-respect and dignity. He urged everyone to adopt Guru Ji’s principles of equality, justice, and social harmony in their lives.
Several prominent personalities, including Kuldeep Singh Samana, R.P. Sharma, Avtar Singh Mauli, Nambardar Harsangat Singh Suhana, former councilor Kawaljit Kaur Suhana, Sanjeev Vashisht, Arun Goel, Harmesh Singh Kumbra, Akvinder Singh Gosal, Bhupinder Singh, and Jaspaal Singh Mataur, were also present at the event.
The religious programs included Kirtan, Langar, and discourses, with a large number of devotees attending to seek blessings. The atmosphere was filled with devotion and reverence, as people bowed their heads in the holy presence of Guru Ravidas Ji and prayed for peace and prosperity.
