Amaravati, February 12, 2025: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has announced a major push for remote work opportunities, particularly for women, as part of the state’s IT & GCC Policy 4.0. Highlighting how the COVID-19 pandemic reshaped work culture, Naidu stated that the initiative would enhance work-life balance and increase workforce participation, making Andhra Pradesh a pioneer in adopting hybrid and remote work models.
In a post on X, Naidu wrote, “Andhra Pradesh is planning ‘work from home’ in a big way, especially for women,” emphasizing that coworking spaces (CWS) and neighborhood workspaces (NWS) would be leveraged to support this shift. The government plans to offer incentives to developers for establishing IT office spaces in cities, towns, and mandals while supporting IT and Global Capability Center (GCC) firms to generate grassroots-level employment.
Naidu also underscored the need to provide training and job opportunities for educated women, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas, who are willing to work but face societal constraints. “Women are talented and efficient, but many remain at home due to family responsibilities. If given work-from-home opportunities, they can contribute significantly to the economy,” he stated.
With Andhra Pradesh’s proactive policies, the state aims to harness digital transformation and foster inclusive workforce participation, setting a new benchmark for women’s employment in India.
