Chandigarh/Faridabad (Balwinder Singh): Union Minister of State for Cooperation Krishan Pal Gurjar on Sunday distributed registry documents of 100-square-yard residential plots to 148 eligible beneficiaries from Fatehpur Billoch village in Faridabad, granting them ownership rights under a Haryana Government initiative aimed at strengthening social security and housing access for economically weaker sections.
The distribution ceremony was held at the minister’s office in Sector-28, Faridabad, where beneficiaries and their family members expressed enthusiasm after receiving legal ownership documents for their allotted plots.
Addressing the gathering, Krishan Pal Gurjar said both the Central Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Haryana Government led by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini are committed to the welfare of poor, deprived and needy sections of society. He said the governments are working with the objective of ensuring that the benefits of welfare schemes reach the last person in the social hierarchy.
The minister said that the registry documents handed over to beneficiaries represent more than just ownership papers. According to him, they provide families with a sense of security, dignity and an opportunity to build a stable future. He added that ownership rights would strengthen the social and economic standing of beneficiaries and help them move closer to realizing their dream of owning a permanent home.
Highlighting housing initiatives, Gurjar said the Central Government has provided more than four crore permanent houses to needy families across the country under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. He noted that the “double-engine government” at the Centre and in Haryana has prioritized welfare programmes for the poor over the past 12 years.
The Union Minister said several flagship schemes have contributed significantly to improving the living standards of economically weaker sections. These include the construction of household toilets, implementation of the Ayushman Bharat health insurance scheme, expansion of Jan Aushadhi Kendras and the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, under which 80 crore people receive five kilograms of free food grains every month.
He further stated that the effective implementation of welfare programmes has helped nearly 25 crore people move above the poverty line over the last 12 years.
Reiterating the government’s commitment to inclusive development, Gurjar said both the Centre and the Haryana Government are working for the upliftment of poor families, farmers, women, youth and other vulnerable sections of society. He assured that welfare schemes would continue to be implemented in a transparent and effective manner to ensure benefits reach all eligible beneficiaries.
