Uttarakhand Recognized as India’s fastest growing state: Vishwas Dawar credit CM Dhami’s vision and Central Support

Dehradun (Rajeev Sharma): Uttarakhand has officially emerged as India’s fastest-growing state, according to Vishwas Dawar, Chairman of the Uttarakhand Infrastructure Monitoring Council and a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Dawar attributes the state’s accelerated development to visionary leadership, strategic infrastructure investments, and strong support from the Central Government.
In the past few years, Uttarakhand has emerged as the fastest-growing state in the country,” Dawar stated. He said, this is the outcome of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s clear vision and determined leadership, backed by the consistent support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the NDA Government at the Centre.
As per official data, Uttarakhand’s Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) witnessed a 13% growth rate in the 2025–26 fiscal year. The state’s real GSDP has surged more than 13-fold between FY 2005 and FY 2024, showcasing a transformation driven by both policy and investment. Dawar highlighted significant progress in infrastructure expansion, including large-scale investments in, Road and railway development, such as the Rishikesh–Karnaprayag Rail Link. Urban infrastructure, like the elevated city road projects in Dehradun, Hydropower and renewable energy projects.

He also pointed to the success of recent Global Investors’ Summits, which have attracted over ₹90,000 crore in project commitments, with more than ₹15,000 crore already in capital outlay.
The state is also witnessing a boom in the tourism and hospitality sector, with major hotel chains including Taj, Radisson, and Oberoi establishing a presence in emerging tourism hubs.
“These achievements reflect Uttarakhand’s commitment to inclusive growth, sustainable development, and strategic economic planning,” said Dawar.
He concluded by emphasizing that the state government remains focused on aligning local priorities with national development goals, ensuring job creation, economic empowerment, and long-term resilience for the people of Uttarakhand.
