Dehradun (Gurpreet Singh): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami launched a comprehensive free online coaching initiative on Monday aimed at preparing 11,000 state students for premier competitive and entrance examinations. The scheme is designed to eliminate financial barriers for talented youth by providing direct virtual access to reputed educators, subject matter experts, and established coaching institutes nationwide. Addressing the launch, the Chief Minister emphasized that digital technology serves as an effective medium to bridge regional divides, ensuring that aspirants from remote and mountainous areas can access top-tier academic training from home.
The initiative covers several key examination categories through a structured quota distribution across the state. Under the plan, 5,000 seats are reserved for candidates preparing for Staff Selection Commission, Railway, and Banking examinations. Additionally, 2,000 seats each are earmarked for Civil Services (UPSC and State PCS) and Defence Services, while 1,000 seats each have been allocated for national eligibility and technical tests like NET, GATE, and CSIR-JRF, as well as management entrance tests including CAT and MAT. Beneficiaries will be selected through an open, merit-based online screening test conducted via a dedicated government registration portal.
Beyond live virtual lectures, enrolled students will receive an end-to-end digital learning framework featuring recorded classes, curated study materials, subject-wise question banks, and regular mock evaluations modeled on current examination patterns. To execute the program, the state has partnered with renowned educational platforms including Study IQ, Mahendras, and Doon Dreamers to deliver structured pedagogy and performance tracking. State officials highlighted that combining technology with quality education guarantees equal opportunity for deserving candidates, irrespective of their socio-economic backgrounds.
