Dehradun (Rajeev Sharma): In response to growing concerns over recruitment irregularities, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reaffirmed the state’s commitment to clean and merit-based appointments, stating that 25,000 recruitments have been made over the past four years with complete transparency.
Addressing media during a press briefing, CM Dhami emphasized that not a single one of these appointments involved malpractice or corruption. “We have ensured that every position was filled purely on merit. The process has remained free from any cheating or manipulation,” he said.
The statement comes in the wake of a recent controversy involving alleged paper leaks and recruitment exam fraud in the state. Dhami confirmed that those accused in the ongoing case have been arrested, and a Special Investigation Team (SIT) is probing deeper into the matter. The SIT has been formed under the guidance of the Supreme Court, highlighting the seriousness with which the government is pursuing the case.
“No one will be spared,” the Chief Minister said sternly. “Those found guilty of dereliction of duty will face accountability. Any attempt to disrupt the fairness of recruitment will not be tolerated.”
Referring to what he described as “Nakal Jihadis” — a term used to label organized cheating groups — Dhami warned that strict legal action awaits those involved in such syndicates, including imprisonment. “Whether it’s an individual or a network, if someone is trying to sabotage the system, they will be behind bars,” he said.
The Chief Minister also pointed out that his administration has consistently worked to strengthen recruitment transparency across government services, implementing checks and reforms to prevent manipulation in competitive exams.
This strong stance follows public outcry and demands for accountability in the wake of several high-profile exam-related scams across various states in India. Uttarakhand’s handling of the issue is now being closely watched as a test case for administrative integrity.
