Uttarakhand CM Meets Speaker Ahead of Assembly Session, Pays Tribute to Vajpayee on Death Anniversary

Dehradun, August 16: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday met Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri Bhushan at her residence in Yamuna Colony to discuss preparations for the upcoming assembly session. Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal was also present during the meeting, according to an official release.

The assembly session is scheduled to take place from August 19 to August 22. Earlier, while speaking to reporters, Chief Minister Dhami confirmed that the monsoon session will be held in Bhararisain. He stated that the government has completed all necessary arrangements for the proceedings.

Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister paid floral tribute to former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna awardee Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his death anniversary. In a social media post on X, Dhami described Vajpayee as an inspiration who gave new direction to Indian politics with democratic ideals.

The Chief Minister also extended greetings to the people of Uttarakhand on the occasion of Janmashtami. Remembering Lord Krishna as a symbol of truth, righteousness, and justice, he wished everyone happiness, health, and prosperity on the occasion.
