Dehradun, September 28, 2025: Amid ongoing protests over the partial leak of the question paper at a center during the Graduate Level Group-G recruitment exam conducted by the Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami assured students that the government will take decisions firmly in their interest.
CM Dhami said, “As long as I am alive, it is my duty and life’s purpose to ensure justice for every student of Uttarakhand.” He added that the incident is under investigation by an SIT and emphasized that the government is ready to allow any form of inquiry, including a CBI investigation, if students demand it. “Students should remain patient; the government will take the right decisions in their favor,” he said.
Recalling past recruitment controversies, CM Dhami said that during the Patwari recruitment scandal, as well as earlier instances of paper manipulation, strict action was taken against those involved. “Our government implemented the country’s strictest anti-cheating laws and jailed over 100 cheating mafias. The media and public are witness to this,” he stated.
He highlighted that in the last four years, Uttarakhand has made more appointments than in the previous 20 years since the state’s formation, providing over 25,000 youths with government jobs through fully transparent examinations. “Going forward, anyone involved in cheating or attempting to manipulate recruitment exams will face strict action. No guilty official will be spared,” he warned.
Regarding the Graduate Level Group-G exam incident in Haridwar, CM Dhami said that the SIT is thoroughly investigating the exam center’s operations. The probe includes determining how the leaked question paper excerpts reached certain individuals, ensuring no similar breaches occurred elsewhere.
The CM also announced that a calendar has been released for 10,000 government appointments over the next year. “These recruitments will be conducted transparently and fairly. Students can rest assured that their interests will not be compromised,” he said.
Addressing the ongoing student protests in Haridwar, he remarked, “Some individuals, unable to engage in politics otherwise, are using students for their agendas. Our students are wise—they understand the situation. During a similar movement in 2022, students later acknowledged that the government made the right decisions.”
