Two Wanted Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Associates Die in Bahadurgarh Gunfight with Police

News Alert

Bahadurgarh (Balwinder Singh): In a major breakthrough against organised crime, two alleged members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang were killed during a police operation in Bahadurgarh, Haryana, in the early hours of Sunday. The action was conducted jointly by the Haryana Police and Delhi Police after receiving intelligence about the movement of the suspects.

Officials identified the deceased as Pravesh from Tibba Danasher and Himanshu from Jakhod Khera village in Hisar district. Both were carrying a reward of ₹1 lakh each and were wanted in connection with the murder of Hansi-based gym owner Kapil, who was shot dead on June 11.

Police said the operation was launched after inputs indicated that the two accused had arrived in Bahadurgarh and were allegedly preparing to commit another serious offence. As security teams attempted to surround and detain them, the suspects reportedly fired at the police party in an effort to escape.

The police responded to the firing, resulting in a brief but intense exchange of gunfire. During the encounter, a police constable suffered a gunshot wound to his leg. Four other personnel escaped injury after bullets struck their protective jackets, preventing what officials described as a potentially more serious outcome.

The injured accused were rushed to a government trauma centre, where doctors declared both dead. The wounded constable was later shifted to a higher medical facility for treatment and is said to be in stable condition.

Senior police officials stated that the encounter has dealt a significant blow to the gang’s network in the region. Investigators are now examining the suspects’ recent activities, possible associates and whether they were involved in other criminal incidents across Haryana and neighbouring states.

Authorities have handed over the probe into the encounter and related developments to senior officers, while efforts continue to trace other members linked to the Bishnoi gang.
