New Delhi (Gurpreet Singh): A 35-year-old Delhi judicial officer, Aman Kumar Sharma, was found dead at his residence in the Safdarjung and Green Park area on Saturday, prompting a high-level police investigation. Preliminary reports suggest that Sharma’s body was found hanging in the bathroom of his home. Emergency services were alerted by the officer’s brother-in-law, and although he was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, medical professionals declared him dead on arrival. The Delhi Police have since initiated inquest proceedings to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
Aman Kumar Sharma was a respected figure within the legal community, having joined the Delhi Judicial Services in June 2021. An alumnus of Symbiosis Law School in Pune, he had built a promising career handling both civil and criminal matters across various jurisdictions. Since October 2025, he had been serving as the full-time Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority for the North-East District at the Karkardooma Courts. His colleagues have described him as a dedicated professional who was deeply committed to his judicial responsibilities and the provision of legal aid.
While initial findings by the authorities have not established any immediate signs of foul play, the investigation is examining serious allegations of domestic distress and harassment. According to statements reportedly provided by the family, the officer had been under significant emotional strain for several months. His father, who travelled from Alwar after receiving a distressing phone call from his son, has alleged that the judicial officer was facing intense conflicts within his household. These claims have introduced a complex layer to the ongoing inquiry as investigators work to reconstruct the events leading up to the incident.
The police have confirmed that they are recording statements from family members, neighbours, and professional associates to gain a comprehensive understanding of the situation. Forensic teams have also processed the scene as part of standard protocols for such cases. As the legal community mourns the loss of a young and capable officer, the authorities have reiterated their commitment to a transparent and thorough investigation, with the final post-mortem report expected to provide further clarity on the cause of death.
