Centre Allocates Over 8,000 Metric Tonnes of Additional Foodgrains to Uttarakhand for Kumbh Mela 2027

Dehradun (Gurpreet Singh): The Government of India has approved an additional quota of wheat and rice for Uttarakhand to support logistical preparations and food supplies for the upcoming Kumbh Mela 2027 in Haridwar. According to an official communication issued by the Union Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, the Centre has sanctioned 3,051.079 metric tonnes of wheat alongside 4,978.073 metric tonnes of rice, taking the cumulative supplementary foodgrain allocation for the religious congregation to 8,029.152 metric tonnes.
