Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): The Haryana State Election Commission has issued a formal directive to remove all political nameplates and hoardings in municipalities where elections are currently proposed. A spokesperson for the commission confirmed on Thursday that the presence of boards featuring the names of mayors, presidents, and council members in public spaces such as streets and intersections constitutes a direct violation of the Model Code of Conduct.
