Eight individuals, including four farmers, have been arrested in connection with the case. According to the police, the accused used to procure opium and poppy husk from Madhya Pradesh during the wheat harvesting season and transport the contraband to पंजाब using tractor-trolleys, concealing it alongside farming equipment to avoid suspicion.
