Over 39 lakh metric tonnes of wheat arrive in Haryana markets; Rs 188 crore paid to farmers

Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): The Rabi procurement season for 2026-27 is progressing successfully across Haryana, with significant increases in wheat arrival and procurement compared to the previous year. As of April 12, 2026, approximately 39.65 lakh metric tonnes (MT) of wheat have arrived in state mandis, nearly double the 20.39 lakh MT recorded during the same period last year. Government agencies have already procured 10.92 lakh MT of wheat, with direct benefit transfers totaling ₹188 crore already credited to the bank accounts of farmers.
