Punjab begins first phase of Census; self-enumeration to continue till May 14

Gurpreet Singh :- The first phase of the Census exercise commenced across Punjab on Wednesday, marking the beginning of the self-enumeration process that will continue till May 14. Residents can submit their details through a dedicated mobile application or web portal, while field staff will assist those without digital access. During this phase, household listings will be prepared, followed by door-to-door data collection by enumerators from May 15 to June 30. The survey will include 33 questions covering assets, amenities and living conditions. Authorities have already completed preliminary groundwork, including boundary mapping and trial runs in select districts.
