West Champaran (Gurpreet Singh): At least five men lost their lives and several others sustained injuries, including one critically, after a speeding passenger bus ploughed into a crowd attending a roadside cultural programme in Bihar’s West Champaran district late Friday night. The fatal accident occurred around 10:45 p.m. along Lauriya Marg in Parau Tola, falling under the jurisdiction of the Lauriya police station, where residents had gathered to celebrate the Chhathi ceremony of a newborn girl.
