Calgary (Rajeev Sharma): Northern Alberta will take centre stage in 2028 as the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo prepares to host the upcoming Alberta Summer Games, welcoming thousands of athletes, coaches and visitors from across the province. The announcement marks the return of the Alberta Summer Games to Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo after more than four decades. The region previously hosted the Alberta Winter Games in 1992 and 2018 and is now set to organise one of the province’s biggest youth multi-sport events.
