Surrey ( Rajeev Sharma): — A 27-year-old man has been arrested and charged after shots were fired at an occupied Surrey home in the early hours of April 13, 2026.
According to the Surrey Police Service, officers responded around 2:52 a.m. to reports of gunfire near 94A Avenue and 127 Street. Bullets struck the residence while several people were inside, though no injuries were reported. The investigation was taken over by the SPS Extortion Response Team (ExRT), which identified a suspect vehicle and later executed a search warrant with support from the Lower Mainland District Emergency Response Team.
Police identified the accused as Jaskaran Saroye. He has been charged with discharging a firearm into an occupied place and remains in custody ahead of a May 12 court appearance. “This arrest reflects the determined work of our officers to hold those responsible for gun violence accountable,” said Norm Lipinski, adding that police will continue targeting violent criminal networks linked to extortion activity.
Police have also released Saroye’s photo, urging anyone with information related to extortion-related violence to come forward as the investigation continues.
