Raghav Chadha, Sandeep Pathak, Ashok Mittal Quit AAP, Announce Move to BJP

New Delhi (Gurpreet Singh): In a major setback for the Aam Aadmi Party, Rajya Sabha MPs Raghav Chadha, Sandeep Pathak and Ashok Mittal on Friday announced they were leaving the party and aligning themselves with the Bharatiya Janata Party.

The three leaders made the announcement at a joint press briefing, saying they were invoking constitutional provisions related to merger by two-thirds members of a legislative group.

Raghav Chadha said the trio had decided to separate from AAP and join the BJP, describing the move as a collective political decision.
Their exit is being seen as a significant blow to AAP’s strength in the Upper House and could reshape equations within the opposition bloc.

The development is also expected to trigger political debate over the party’s future direction and internal cohesion.

With three sitting Rajya Sabha members shifting sides, the move marks one of the most notable political realignments involving AAP in recent years.

Details related to the procedural aspects of the merger and the leaders’ prospective roles in the BJP are yet to emerge.
