National Times Bureau :- A controversy has erupted after Punjabi University allegedly committed disrespect towards Mahan Kosh, the revered Sikh encyclopaedia. Jathedar Gurcharan Singh Gargaj has strongly condemned the act, terming it as a deliberate move reflecting an “anti-Sikh mindset.”
According to reports, certain content or treatment related to Mahan Kosh at the university has sparked outrage among Sikh scholars and community leaders. They allege that the incident is not merely a mistake but a reflection of neglect and insensitivity towards Sikh heritage and historical works.
Jathedar Gargaj demanded strict action against those responsible and urged the authorities to restore respect for the historical text. “This is not just an insult to a book; it is an insult to Sikh history and culture. We will not tolerate such acts of disrespect,” he said.
The controversy has stirred anger among various Sikh organizations, who have called for a thorough investigation and appropriate disciplinary measures. The university administration, however, has yet to release an official statement clarifying its position on the issue.
