Punjab Police Brings Three Bambiha Gang-Linked Suspects Back From Malaysia for Probe

Chandigarh (Gurpreet Singh): Punjab Police has intensified its action against alleged transnational criminal networks with the arrest of three wanted suspects who were deported from Malaysia and taken into custody at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport.

The operation was conducted by the Overseas Fugitive Tracking and Extradition Cell (OFTEC) of the Counter Intelligence Wing in coordination with central investigative agencies.

The accused have been identified as Jaspreet Singh alias Jas Behbal, Ajay Singh and Pawandeep Singh. Police said all three were wanted in multiple criminal cases and were traced to Malaysia before being deported to India.

Suspects wanted in serious cases

According to the Punjab Police, the three men are allegedly associated with the Davinder Bambiha gang and are wanted in cases involving murder, extortion and explosives.

Their alleged involvement in a planned hand-grenade attack in Ludhiana is also under investigation. Police have claimed that the case has suspected links with Pakistan’s ISI.

Following their arrest at IGI Airport, the suspects were taken into custody and are being brought to Punjab. Investigators are expected to question them about their alleged criminal activities and connections with other operatives.

International coordination helps track fugitives

The development highlights the role of coordination between state and central agencies in locating wanted accused who operate from outside India.

Punjab Police said the OFTEC has been working to identify and track fugitives believed to be involved in organised criminal activities overseas. The latest deportation is being seen as another step towards dismantling such networks.

Further investigation underway

The three accused will face further questioning in Punjab as investigators examine their alleged roles in the cases registered against them.

Police are also expected to look into their suspected links with other members of the gang and any wider international network connected to the cases.

Punjab Police said it would continue pursuing wanted criminals regardless of where they attempt to hide, with the objective of bringing them back to India to face investigation and due legal process.
