Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Reflecting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s national call for environmental preservation and a transition toward clean energy, the massive public rally organized in Jind on Friday successfully demonstrated a large-scale shift toward sustainable transport. Setting a benchmark for reducing reliance on fossil fuels, a vast number of attendees and organizers arrived at the venue using electric vehicles, effectively transforming the political gathering into a practical demonstration of eco-friendly mass mobility.
The logistical framework for the event integrated a fleet of 466 electric vehicles, comprising 155 electric buses and 311 electric cars. To further minimize the carbon footprint, an additional 273 compressed natural gas buses were utilized to transport participants from adjacent regions. To facilitate continuous operations and eliminate charging anxieties, the administration established 41 dedicated electric vehicle charging stations alongside six reserve units, deploying a total of 91 charging nozzles to guarantee efficient power delivery.
Preparations for the vehicular deployment began well in advance, with approximately 135 electric buses undergoing comprehensive charging cycles at the specialized stations between July 16 and July 17. During the actual course of the convention, around 150 electric cars actively utilized the regional charging infrastructure, confirming the operational readiness of the local grid.
The Jind rally has been highlighted by environmental strategists as an indicator of growing public alignment with eco-friendly lifestyles. By adopting clean-energy solutions at scale, the event effectively illustrated that modern technology can simultaneously lower transportation overheads and curtail vehicular emissions. The extensive coordination in Haryana emphasizes that infrastructural growth can coexist with ecological responsibility, leveraging public participation to build a sustainable, green future.
