The congratulatory message comes amid diplomatic deliberations between New Delhi and Dhaka regarding a proposed visit by Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, which remains unconfirmed as both governments address outstanding bilateral matters. Rashtrapati Bhavan had earlier issued and subsequently withdrawn a routine notice linking the cancellation of its weekly Change of Guard ceremony to rehearsals for the foreign leader’s arrival.
Despite ongoing diplomatic complexities, including Dhaka’s formal requests concerning former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Murmu’s communication focused entirely on enduring institutional relations and shared regional interests.
