PM NARENDRA MODI’S CANADA VISIT CONFIRMED FOR DECEMBER 11–12, 2026

Calgary (Rajeev Sharma): Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Canada on December 11–12, 2026, as officially confirmed by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and the High Commission of India in Ottawa. Toronto and Ottawa are expected to be among the destinations on his itinerary.

The visit is expected to provide an opportunity for India and Canada to discuss bilateral relations and areas of mutual interest.

Trade is likely to be among the key issues on the agenda, including ongoing discussions toward a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). If negotiations make progress, the agreement could help expand trade and investment ties between the two countries.

Other potential areas of discussion include energy, technology and security cooperation. Both countries have economic interests in sectors such as clean energy, agriculture, information technology and critical minerals.

The programme could also include meetings with members of the Indian diaspora and community representatives, depending on the final itinerary.

Modi’s visit comes at a significant time for India–Canada relations, with both sides having opportunities to address outstanding concerns and explore ways to strengthen diplomatic and economic engagement.

Further details about the itinerary and scheduled engagements are expected to be announced by the governments of India and Canada.
