Gurpreet Singh :- A massive fire broke out at a scrap warehouse on Kala Singha Road in Kadiana village, under the western constituency of Jalandhar, causing widespread panic and significant property loss. Several motorcycles and large quantities of scrap material were completely destroyed in the blaze.
According to eyewitnesses, the fire spread rapidly, with flames visible from a long distance and thick clouds of smoke covering the sky. Residents rushed out of their homes to ensure their safety and immediately informed the fire brigade.
Fire officials deployed five fire tenders to control the situation, but the intensity of the flames made the operation challenging. Locals stated that the fire started in the early morning hours and quickly escalated beyond control despite initial efforts to contain it.
A nearby resident reported that along with the scrap warehouse, adjacent houses were also affected. A factory and residence belonging to a person identified as Jawahar were severely damaged in the incident.
The incident left locals in distress. Javed Akhtar, a resident, alleged that although the fire brigade was informed promptly, the team reached the spot after nearly an hour, allowing the fire to spread further.
Police personnel also reached the scene shortly after receiving information and are currently monitoring the situation. Authorities have secured the area and advised residents to stay away while firefighting operations continue.
