Patiala (Gurpreet Singh): Aam Aadmi Party’s Punjab affairs in-charge and former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia paid obeisance at the famous Mata Shri Kali Devi Temple in Patiala on the first day of Ashwin Navratri and sought the blessings of Mata Rani. He was accompanied by Punjab Health Minister Dr Balbir Singh, MLA Ajitpal Singh Kohli, Mayor Kundan Gogia and members of the temple’s advisory committee.

On the occasion, Sisodia performed havan and puja along with AAP leaders and offered prayers before Mata Rani. Extending Navratri greetings to all devotees, he prayed for the happiness, prosperity, peace and progress of the people of the country. He also unfurled the newly installed religious flag of Mata Rani along with the Health Minister and other AAP leaders. Later, he participated in Kanjak Pujan at the newly constructed langar hall and served langar to devotees.
Manish Sisodia also prayed for Bhagwant Singh Mann to become Chief Minister once again. He expressed the hope that the Aam Aadmi Party would return to power in the upcoming elections and that the hard work of party leaders would bear fruit.
Speaking about the ongoing construction and renovation work at the temple, Sisodia said, “It is a matter of good fortune for the Aam Aadmi Party that Maa Kali has given our government the opportunity to serve in the renovation of this sacred temple.”
He said the temple would acquire an even more magnificent appearance in the coming days. Describing it as a Siddh Peeth, he said devotees from across the country visit the temple to pay their respects, and the Punjab Government would make every possible arrangement to facilitate their visits.
Speaking to the media, Sisodia targeted the BJP-led Central Government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He prayed that Mata Rani would bless the Central Government with wisdom. Demanding the resignation of Gyanesh Kumar, he alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was now only in government and no longer in the hearts of the people. Commenting on the CBI, Election Commission and Enforcement Directorate, he alleged that these institutions were being used as tools to win elections and to serve political interests.
Temple committee member CA Ajay Alipuria said that despite heavy rainfall, devotees enjoyed the newly constructed building while sitting in the new corridor developed around the temple’s sacred pond. He added that devotees had appreciated the rapid pace of renovation work being undertaken by the government.
Among those present on the occasion were Mahesh Mittal, Chairman of the temple’s Advisory Managing Committee; CA Ajay Alipuria, Dr Raj Kumar Gupta, Sanjay Singla, Aam Aadmi Party District President Navaldeep Singh, Deputy Commissioner Dr Himanshu Aggarwal, ADC Anuprita Johal and other prominent personalities.
