ITBP Bus Plunges into Sindh River in J&K’s Ganderbal; All Personnel Rescued

Ganderbal, J&K: A major accident was averted in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday after a bus carrying personnel of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) skidded off the road and fell into the Sindh river at Kullan in Ganderbal district amid heavy rainfall, officials said.

All security personnel on board were successfully rescued. However, the driver of the bus sustained injuries and was immediately shifted to a hospital for treatment.

Authorities have not yet confirmed the total number of personnel who were in the vehicle at the time of the incident.

The accident occurred as the region has been witnessing continuous rainfall, which has made several stretches of road slippery and dangerous, officials added.

Rescue teams and local police swiftly responded to the situation, ensuring there was no loss of life. An inquiry into the cause of the accident is likely to be initiated.
