Haryana To Offer 80% Subsidy On Organic Fertilisers To Registered Farmers, Announces Agriculture Minister Shyam Singh Rana

Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): The Haryana government has approved an 80% subsidy on organic fertilisers for farmers registered on the ‘Meri Fasal Mera Byora’ portal, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana announced on Wednesday.

The initiative is aimed at encouraging natural and organic farming across the state and improving farmers’ income. Rana said the Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department had started acting on the budget announcement made by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.

Licensing Rules Relaxed For Small Organic Fertiliser Sellers

The state government has also approved relaxations in licensing requirements for sellers dealing in small quantities of organic fertilisers.

Under the decision, vendors selling packs of up to 5 kg of Fermented Organic Manure (FOM), Liquid Fermented Organic Manure (LFOM) and Phosphate Rich Organic Manure (PROM) will be exempt from the relevant sales licensing process.

The relaxation will also apply to dealers maintaining stocks of up to 10 metric tonnes. The minister said the decision would be implemented soon.

Government Aims To Expand Organic Farming

Rana said the subsidy would make organic fertilisers more accessible to registered farmers, while the licensing relief would make it easier for small vendors to conduct business.

The government expects the measures to encourage wider use of organic inputs in agriculture and provide direct financial support to eligible farmers.

The minister said the state was committed to promoting natural and organic farming as part of its efforts to strengthen the agricultural sector.
