Haryana Governor calls for collective efforts for empowerment of persons with disabilities; 16 beneficiaries received free artificial limbs

Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana Governor Prof. Asim Kumar Ghosh has called upon corporate houses, charitable organizations, social institutions and common citizens to come forward and play an active role in humanitarian efforts to empower the disabled and improve their living standards.

The Governor was addressing a prosthetic limb distribution camp organized by Act Humane at Lok Bhavan, Haryana today. Haryana’s First Lady, Mrs. Mitra Ghosh, was also present on the occasion. During the camp, 16 needy beneficiaries received state-of-the-art prosthetic limbs free of charge.

The Governor said that even a small contribution of time, skills, or resources can make a big difference in someone’s life. He added that despite their abilities and determination, many people need timely support to regain self-reliance and fulfill their aspirations. In such situations, collective support from society not only provides them with mobility but also instills confidence, respect, and new hope in their lives.

Interacting with the disabled, the Governor stated that this camp is not limited to distributing prosthetic limbs, but rather is a meaningful initiative to instill confidence, dignity, and hope in the lives of the disabled. He expressed confidence that this support will enable all beneficiaries to become more self-reliant and move forward with renewed enthusiasm and determination toward achieving their life goals.

The Governor stated that the Haryana Government is continuously committed to the welfare, empowerment, and social security of persons with disabilities. Various welfare schemes and measures are being implemented to promote their dignified lives, accessibility, education, rehabilitation, and economic empowerment. He added that when government efforts are supported by civil society, voluntary organizations, philanthropic organizations, and responsible citizens, their impact becomes more widespread and effective.

Extending his best wishes to the disabled and their families, the Governor expressed hope that with the help of prosthetic limbs, all beneficiaries will be able to perform their daily tasks with greater confidence and gain new opportunities for progress in life. He also commended the efforts of Act Humane for assisting those in need and promoting inclusiveness and sensitivity in society.

On this occasion, Secretary to the Governor Shri Vijaykumar Bhavikatti, ADC to the Governor Squadron Leader P. Bharat, General Manager of ‘ACT Humane’ Shri Deep Kalra, Ms. Harleen Kaur and other representatives of the organization were also present.
