Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): The Haryana government has issued comprehensive directives to ensure the seamless execution of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2026, which is set to take place on May 24. During a high-level review meeting held on Friday, Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi emphasized that the state must maintain the highest standards of security and transparency for this prestigious national assessment. To accommodate the significant number of aspirants, the administration has finalized the setup of 89 examination centres across two key districts, with 52 centres established in Gurugram and 37 in Faridabad.

The review session, conducted via video conferencing, brought together Police Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, and other senior officials from the involved districts to scrutinize the logistical framework. Chief Secretary Rastogi underscored the necessity for flawless coordination between departments to manage the expected influx of candidates. The discussion focused heavily on implementing robust security measures, ensuring an uninterrupted power supply at all venues, and streamlining transportation routes to prevent traffic bottlenecks on the morning of the exam. Officials have been tasked with creating an environment that allows students to focus entirely on their performance without unnecessary external stressors.

In addition to infrastructure, the state has prioritized the strict enforcement of UPSC guidelines to prevent any irregularities. The Chief Secretary instructed district and police authorities to deploy sufficient personnel for effective crowd management and to maintain a vigilant watch over the examination process. He reminded all staff members assigned to exam duty that their roles require the utmost professionalism, integrity, and diligence. By reinforcing these protocols, the Haryana government aims to facilitate a fair and orderly examination process that upholds the sanctity of the civil services selection cycle.
