Haryana CM Urges Uttarakhand Government to Settle ₹34 Crore Dues of Sugarcane Farmers

Chandigarh, March 19 – Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has written a letter to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, urging him to clear the outstanding dues of around ₹34 crore owed to Haryana’s sugarcane farmers by a sugar mill in Uttarakhand.

Saini mentioned that during meetings with various farmer organizations, it was brought to his attention that Ikbalpur Sugar Mill in Uttarakhand has not paid Haryana farmers’ dues from the 2017-18 season. He emphasized that the delay in payment is causing financial strain for farmers who rely on these funds for their livelihoods.

The Haryana CM also requested the Uttarakhand government to investigate the reasons behind the delay and take immediate steps to ensure that the affected farmers receive their payments without further delay. Saini expressed hope for a swift and positive resolution in the interest of the farmers.
